About Bloomington, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Bloomington is an Indiana city located southwest of Indianapolis in Monroe County. It is the seventh largest city in the state by population with about 84,000 residents. Bloomington is home to Indiana University Bloomington, which was originally established in 1820 and has nearly 50,000 students. Not surprisingly, Indiana University is the largest employer in the city, although other major employers include Cook Group, Indiana University Health – Bloomington, Baxter BioPharma Solutions, and Kroger.

Visitors and residents of Bloomington will have a wealth of things to see and do here. WonderLab Science Museum offers a hands-on kids’ museum, as well as reptiles and insects, and many Indiana University sporting events are held at Assembly Hall and Memorial Stadium. The Bloomington Community Farmers Market offers fresh, local produce during the warmer months, and outdoor recreation is popular at Monroe Lake and the Fairfax State Recreation Area. Other attractive destinations in Bloomington include the Eskenazi Museum of Art at Indiana University, the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, and Butler Winery.

The Bloomington area experiences four varied seasons throughout the year, including a winter that is generally mild to cool. Average high temperatures fall into the 30s, but the region only receives about 18 inches of snow each year. Rain and the potential for freezing is another concern, so residents need to be prepared at home with the right gas or electric furnace to stay safe.

The summer season in Bloomington is characterized by very humid and hot conditions. Average daily highs reach the upper-80s, but there are many days in which temperatures reach 90 degrees or higher. Residents who are in need of a new or replacement central air conditioning system should consult with a Bloomington HVAC specialist to select the right unit. A high-SEER system will offer the most energy efficiency and can ultimately save residents on their monthly cooling costs.
